Experience the best of South Africa with this perfect combination of a Big 5 safari and the vibrant 'Mother' city of Cape Town.

Overview

Your first three days are spent at the luxurious Tintswalo Safari Lodge that is situated in the pristine 23000-hectare Manyeleti Game Reserve. Sharing an unfenced boundary with the renowned Kruger National Park, Tintswalo offers exceptional game viewing opportunities from the comfort of open vehicle game drives to exploring the African bush on foot.

All safari lodges in the Manyeleti Game Reserve are privately owned and make use of the land on a concession basis. As there are only seven lodges in the reserve, and more than 200 kilometers of gravel roads, you can assume to have to this game reserve pretty much to yourself.

Following an exhilarating safari experience, you travel to the beautiful city of Cape Town. Here, you will spend the next three days at the award-winning Tintswalo Atlantic lodge; a hidden gem in Cape Town, nestled at the base of the ocean-facing Table Mountain National Park. Cape Town offers a diverse cultural experience as well as several historical attractions, fascinating museums, pristine beaches, magnificent mountains, and picturesque vineyards.

This 6-day tour is the ideal option for solo explorers, couples, and families looking to experience the best of what South Africa has to offer.

Itinerary

Day 1 - 3: Manyeleti Game Reserve

Begin your journey from Johannesburg with a scheduled flight from OR Tambo International Airport to the Manyeleti Game Reserve. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your lodge for check-in.

Later this afternoon your safari adventure begins as you venture out into the bushveld for your first game drive. Boasting one of the lowest vehicle densities in the Greater Kruger, you can expect an uninterrupted game viewing experience in an untouched African wilderness. Game drives average on 3 -4 hours in duration with a stop en-route to stretch the legs and enjoy a refreshment whilst watching the sunset.

The next two days will be spent enjoying early morning and late afternoon game drives that are led by some of the best rangers in the industry, and accompanied by local trackers that hail from the native Shangaan communities.

As there are no fences between the national park and the private game reserves, wildlife is able to roam freely. Manyeleti is prime “Big Five” territory, offering exceptional good possibilities for viewing the elusive leopard. The reserve has more than 300 bird species and is home to the other Big Five animals (lion, rhino, buffalo, and elephant) that are spotted on a very regular basis.

Manyeleti makes a great safari destination for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers and bird watchers alike.

Day 4 - 5: Cape Town

After one last morning game drive and a scrumptious breakfast, you will transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Johannesburg. Here, you will connect with your scheduled flight to Cape Town. On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you'll be met and transferred to your hotel.

You are in an ideal location from which to enjoy the finest that the Western Cape has to offer. Situated a short drive from the Mother City, experience the diversity of Cape Town’s eclectic culture, as well as the scenic beauty and quietude of the Table Mountain National Park on which Tintswalo Atlantic resides. Cape Town offers a variety of attractions and tours, so please consult with one of our travel experts about the different options.

Tintswalo Atlantic’s is also perfect for well-deserved downtime after your Kruger Safari. A heated pool and poolside service make for a marvelous afternoon of leisure and sunshine. On cooler days, bring a book into the lodge lounge and enjoy hours in front of a crackling fireplace.

Day 6: Depart Cape Town

Enjoy the breathtaking views one last time during breakfast before gathering your belongings and bidding farewell to the paradise you have called home for the last three days. You will be transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your onward flight back home. You may leave South Africa with a heavy heart but the experiences you have had will remain etched in your memory for a lifetime.

What our guests say about Pascal

Pascal is a travel angel! Highly recommend him.
We started planning for our safari trip contacting a bunch of different travel advisors but Pascal's service truly stood out to us as the best in the industry. He took care of planning everything from start to finish for our very last minute honeymoon trip (literally a month out and during the busiest safari season). He is extremely meticulous and very responsive to our 100 questions. He shared first hand experiences at each of the different lodges, personal pictures and gave us solid recommendations within our budget. He hopped on a call with us initially to explain all the differences to us first time safari goers, and continued to be very flexible and patient with us as we couldn't decide! We are very excited for our trip and cannot thank Pascal enough for being our first interaction on our upcoming trip.

Wonderful experience with Safari.com
Wonderful experience with Safari.com. My Safari Agent, Dolan, has 20+ years of experience in booking a memorable safari. He guided me in picking the right lodging and safari within my budget. He offered several options and answered all my questions. His response time was fast, regardless of the international time difference, and we were able to make quick decisions. Highly recommend.
